Capicchioni was an Italian violin maker. He moved to France at the age of 19 to engage himself in violin making. In and after 1932, he participated in many exhibitions and competitions all over Italy to be recognized and applauded for his talent in no time. His artwork received gold medals in Cremona, Rome, Padva and Forli. Its graceful structure and excellent sounds made him a popular maker. His violins have been possessed and loved by renowned musicians, including Menuhin and Oistrakh and his cello by Rostropovich. This cello was made in his very golden period.
