Giuseppe Giacchetti 1914
Giuseppe Giacchetti (1890 – 1980) was one of the most excellent violin makers in Rome, Italy.
He studied music and violin making with Rodolfo Fredi (1861 – 1950) in the conservatoire in Rome. After some years of striving, he moved to Paris at the age of 30 to start his violin making business.
However, he eventually came back to Rome to make excellent violins one after another.
His specialty is varnish - brilliant reddish transparent oil varnish.
This violin is flawless and in perfect conditions with his characteristic varnish. With its brilliant rich tones, it can be said to be a classical gem.
