Nippon Violin Society: Giuseppe Antonio Rocca c.1855 Beneficiary Announced

2024.03.22

The beneficiary of the “Nippon Violin Society: Announcement of Free Violin Loan for Giuseppe Antonio Rocca c.1855," for which applications began in January this year, has been decided as Mr. RICCARDO ZAMUNER.

Message from Mr. Shin Takeuchi

We received applications from 66 musicians worldwide and viewed each of their videos one by one. We then invited six finalists to Tokyo from around the world to perform using this Rocca violin and a Sartory bow. Although all were truly outstanding musicians, I decided to loan the violin to Riccardo, a violinist from Naples who is already active as a professional, based on my fundamental principle of lending to someone who can maximize the potential of this violin. His performance demonstrated high levels of power, sensitivity, emotion, and above all, a sincere and trustworthy personality, making him the deserving musician for this opportunity. We look forward to and hope for his success with this violin, leading to further wonderful encounters with violins and eventually to the hands of another remarkable musician.

Message from Richardo Zamuner
